ABOUT THE PROGRAM

One of the 3 pillars of 14 Founders is a student-run venture program investing in student-run startups in the state of Colorado. The program is managed by local Colorado students and is sponsored by Kickstart Fund. We invest $14k in student-led startups that show strong potential to help them get off the ground and reach meaningful milestones. For more information about pitching to us, check out this page.

Who makes investment decisions?

Our student investment team makes decisions throughout the process, including investment decisions. The Kickstart team provides financial backing and ongoing training and coaching for the students. The students on our team source, analyze, and execute all of the program’s deals.

How can I join the investment team?

We generally recruit based on needs at the beginning of each semester (usually in September and January). If you're interested in joining our team and would like to be kept in the loop, reach out here!

Why is Kickstart doing this?

Since its inception in 2008 as one of the first and most active seed funds in the Mountain West, Kickstart has always taken the long view. Kickstart's team members have benefited from the institutions, networks, and educational opportunities that allowed them to develop their passion and abilities for entrepreneurship, innovation, and seed funding. They want young talent in Colorado to have the resources and relationships to dream big and attack global opportunities. They believe 14 Founders can be a vehicle that develops the next generation of game-changing entrepreneurs and smart venture capitalists.
